Hi to all,

Well its been an interesting start to the season with a 3 lap practice and the bike suffering electrical problems the first hurdle. Two days later it was put on the dyno for a good tune up but that turned to disaster with an engine blow up. Oh well it happens doesnt it.

With a replacement engine put in it was back to business for our first meeting in Palmy, well we got to do four laps for the night before the track cut up too rough.

During the week I built another engine to replace the good one that blew and all is well so it was off to Hawkes Bay on the 1/11/08. With challenging and changing track conditions we had mixed results a 3rd a 4th and a 2nd. However It was a good chance to settle the engine in and start to work on the handling.

Palmy the 8/11/08 well this turned out to be an interesting night 1st race trouble with fueling issues so no practice lap just straight into racing. The bike was running good until it came to a sudden stop when tangled up with one of the great combinations of the sport Handbag & Sally.

Race 2 more dramas on the line it died again by the time we got it going we were over half a lap down and not in contention. It was good to have a clear track to get used to the handling of the new frame and get some fine tuning underway.

Race 3 Yay the bike didnt die. I think we found that problem. We ended up 3rd behind  one the legends of the sport 5P Wingnut and Stu with Russel (one of the fossels out there racing) Taking the win. Andrew and Phillipa taking fourth well done you 2 are riding well.

The final part of this post is Sidecar 11p is now up for sale. If anyone is interested plese email me or you can see me at the track here in Palmy when we are racing.

Have a good week all

Regards Mark

Disappointment with opening night been cancelled.

Well its been a couple of busy months getting the bike ready for the new season. I must say a special thanks to Toby and Sharon for the frame work and hospitality. Stu for the painting of the fairings.

Gordy will be back the side this year so we are looking forward to what is shaping up to be a good season. The Manawatu Champs are early in November and the New Zealand Champs on the 2 and 3 of January in Palmy this year. The New Zealands is shaping up to be a big event this year with 5 Aussie combinations coming over to race.

Cheers Mark

After moving house Friday and Saturday (what a mission) we headed to Wanganui to race.

Race 1: Practice Lap bike crapped out missing and farting not a good start to the night and a DNS as the result.

Race 2: Borrowed the 42p bike off Steve King (Thanks GRANDAD fastest that bikes been for a while) but with rain falling a 3rd place was all we could manage.

The rain kept falling and the Title was put on hold for another time. So a stink night out.

I hope Phillapa swinger of 39p makes a full and speedy recovery after her tumble.

Cheers Mark and Gordy

Thanks GT for the photo.

As you can see we made the trip north to race the East Coast Champs in Napier.

Race 1: The wheelie King was back with a couple of wheelstands out the gate 1st corner snapped a gear change cable so we were back in 4th a move in the pit corner saw us pass two bikes and start chasing down the leader 21b Dave Black with a little bit of a rubbin in the last corner it was side by side heading across the line for the flag 21b jst hanging on for the win.

Race 2; Well what can I say this time the bike wouldnt even start. So we were lucky enough to borrow the 52w machine off Stu Priest (thanks budda). A total different bike to ride than ours but managed to get 2nd behind the 45p machine of Phil and Simon Mcnabb.

Race 3: A new battery and gear change cable we were away til the 1st corner and snapped another gear change cable. We chased 21k Glenn Murray all the way home only to come second. All in all a reasonable track to race on and a good night on the track.

Hi there , Well sorry I’ve been so useless with updating the site allot of things have been happening.

New Zealand Champs in Gisborne were a disaster for us but nevermind we had fun in the non qualifiers races on Saturday winning 3 out of 4.

Wellington Champs 3 heats to qualify and a 6 bike final. We were having a good nite till the 3 qualifying we had a tangle up with 52w Stu and RIch which put us out of the race. Next race out a run off with 52w for the spot in the top 6 we won that putting us through to the final. Into the first the first corner of the final second behind 35V Mick and Blink until the 3nz came from up high and across our line taking our front wheel out so by the time the bike settled we were pretty much last. Then we had Russel in our sites but not enough laps to do anything about it and ending up with a DNF. All in all a good night.

We have been doing local meetings in Palmy and Wanganui and mixed results from 1st to last and slowly working things out.

Friday night I picked up another TL motor so I’ll be pulling that apart in the next couple of weeks to put the crank  and rods into the good motor for next season which I cant wait for with New Zealand Champs in Palmy.

Gordy has been talking to a couple of people about sponsorship so hopefully some good comes out of that we will  need all the help we can get next season.

 Thanks for reading Cheers Mark

As you can see in the photo below our first race was an action packed event with only 3 of the 6 units finishing the race.

Welcome back viewers.

Saturday night we made the trip to Wanganui for another nights racing.

Race 1 we drew gate 3 heaps of wheelspin off the line and third into the first corner chasing 35v all the way to finish. 1st 42p Steve and Mark 2nd 35v Mick and Blink 3rd us.

Race 2 gate 4 off the line Mick 35v pulled a series off wheelstands and we had a minor tangle we were third into the first corner and in second on the way out following 42p. Pit corner Steve drifted nice and wide and left a big gap so we took the leed until the last corner when disaster struck the bike had no power and 35v piped us at the post (bugga). Upon investigation we have unfortunately found out the motor has run a bearing putting us off the track for a bit. If anyone knows were there is a cheap Suzuki TL1000 motor for sale please email me and let me know.

Regards Mark and Gordy

Race 1 Not to bad off the line scrapped our way to third only to make a big mistake running into the back of Cudge and spinning up towards the wall we came to a standstill and I thought we were sweet but next  thing Stu and Richie 52W rounded the corner and whack breaking the front end off. Oh well Bugga. A good display from all riders and swingers there. Well done Steve (the Chinaman) for winning the feature again. Oh well time to head back to the shed and carry on with repair work.

Sorry Gordy we will redeem ourselves when we head to Gizzy next.
